One of the most effective ways to limit the access to your Internet site is to block the IP addresses of the individuals which should not be able to open it. There are various good reasons to do this. For example, you may want a particular person not to be able to see your website, or you may limit the access for an entire state. You could also block IP addresses in case you notice that there are too many browser requests from them, if a huge number of spam comments are left on your sites or if a script login page has been loaded a large number of times. In each of these situations, the traffic is more than likely fake and has been generated by an automatic bot, so you may safely block any shady IP address, in order to be on the safe side. Thus, you'll also stay away from the possibility of your hosting server getting overloaded by a lot of fake requests.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud hosting account with us and you would like to block one or a number of IP addresses, you may use the IP Blocking tool, that is integrated into our in-house built Hepsia CP. Through a rather simple interface, you'll be able to prevent any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it takes to do that is to log inside to your CP, to check out the IP Blocking section, to pick a certain domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to type in the IP address. You simply won't need to do anything complicated if you would like to block a whole network - you'll just have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot shall block the whole range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs will be listed within the same section, so you will be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with simply a click.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our semi-dedicated server accounts feature a really simple-to-use IP blocking tool, which will allow you to restrict individual IPs or even entire networks from accessing your websites with simplya few clicks and you shall not have any problems to do that even if this is your first web hosting account. Once you check out the IP Blocking section of the Hepsia Control Panel, you will simply have to choose the domain or subdomain in question from a drop-down list, then input the IP address within a box that you will see there and you will be all set. To restrict the access for a whole network, you will need to leave one or more octets blank. For example, if you type in 123.123. and do not enter anything within the third and fourth positions, our server will deny requests from all IP addresses between 123.123.1.1 and 123.123.255.255.
